In lightsaber combat, cho mok was the act of cutting off an opponent's limb, such as a humanoid's leg.

It should be noted that Count Dooku cutting Anakin Skywalker's arm on Geonosis was considered an "up to the elbow" version of cho mai, as it was not quite as drastic as cho mok.[1]

Notable usesEdit

My arm! You've cut it off! The pain…mercy I beg!

At the climax of the Battle of Ruusan, Sith Lord Githany administered a cho mok strike against the Jedi initiate Hardin, severing his leg from the knee down with her lightwhip.[2]

The Dark Jedi Asajj Ventress applied cho mok against Zule Xiss, slicing off her left arm.[3]

Anakin Skywalker applied cho mok on an IG-100 MagnaGuard onboard the Invisible Hand.[4]

Obi-Wan Kenobi's amputation of Darth Vader's legs and remaining arm during his mou kei application could be considered a fast, triple cho mok.[4]

Obi-Wan Kenobi used this technique at several points in his life: on Coruscant[1], on Tatooine[5], and would use it during numerous duels, such as on Tatooine during the early years of the Great Jedi Purge[6]

Luke Skywalker performed the maneuver on Hoth against a female Wampa, who would later be appropriately referred to as "One-Arm".[7]

Skywalker also severed UnuThul's arm during their duel aboard the Admiral Ackbar.[8]

Jacen Solo performed cho mok when he chopped off Nelani Dinn's right leg at Darth Vectivus's lair near Bimmiel in 40 ABY, beginning his path towards his grandfather's footsteps.[9]

Jedi Master Tresina Lobi received a cho mok strike from Dark Jedi Alema Rar, during their duel in Coruscant's Fellowship Plaza, having both of her legs severed at the knees.[10]

Many decades later, Darth Nihl would cleave Wolf Sazen's arm, also earning him the pseudonym "One-Arm".[11] Cade Skywalker, Wolf's pupil, returned the favor on Nihl seven years later.[12]
